St Mary’s Fete: Saturday 6th July
Only two more weeks to our annual St Mary’s Summer Fete and we hope you have it in your diary and are getting as excited about it as we are!
Listen to the Hemel Hempstead Brass Band in the rectory garden, or to a performance by Madalina Tudoran or the Bridgewater School Choir in the church. Browse the many offers of books, stationery, plants, cakes, jewellery, gifts and toiletries at the stalls in the school playground. Try your luck on the bottle, plant or choir raffle or at the toy tombola. Enjoy a burger or Hot Dog from the BBQ with a glass of Pimms, beer or lemonade. Have fun with competitive games of golf, football and a coconut shy in the school field. Little ones are catered for in the rectory garden with face painting, a bouncy castle, Princess Lucky Dip and a craft tent. In the Parish Rooms we will serve tea and a sumptuous collection of cakes. So come along for a fabulous day out for all the family!
If you can help, we are still looking for donations of:
Bottles (all kinds – but in date and full please). Please bring to the Rectory or give to Nick Laing.
Plants and garden items - please bring them along on the day.
Cakes – if you think you can help out by providing cakes for either the cake stall or the refreshments stall, please get in touch with Penny Coase, Paula Campbell-Balcombe, Margit or Rachel. Please label cakes with all ingredients and allergens, if any.
The fete will run from 12.00 noon to 3.30pm and will raise money for GO MAD (Go Make a Difference), Clare Hodgsons’s charity raising funds for the running of an orphanage for disabled children and young people, DENS, the local charity for homeless people, and our church to replace the flagpole on the tower.
